After working with Roger Higgins and Ann Shipp on their Nashville home and a tropical Bahamian getaway, the owners of this mountain property reached out to the R. Higgins team to design their dream holiday home at the Yellowstone Club in Big Sky, Montana.

The clients’ goal was to create a space that felt slightly more contemporary than their Nashville home, but textural and rustic enough to fit into the Montana landscape. Roger started with a palette based on earth tones; highly textural and extracted from the surrounding landscape. Rich greens and slate blues transform the more masculine spaces while rich browns with lavender undertones offer hints of the feminine. Contemporary art, venetian plaster applications, and custom fixtures add a layer of extravagance that balances the more organic elements; creating a home that feels equal parts mountain retreat and urban elegance.
